Fuel prices

price been constantly going up here did not help when the dem and nnalert got together and raised the gas tax 10 cents per gallon last week. Said the money was going to rebuild bridges and roads. that's the same thing the nnalert told us when they raised the liscensing fees several years ago.

When fuel got as low as I though it would (2.18) I filled every tank I had. It might get lower, but this is the lowest price in several years.

WA state took advantage of the drop in price to pass a 10 cent tax also this week. It will go into effect gradually, tho. I don't really care as it is closer for me to go to Idaho to fill up. Prices have gone up 50 cents or more the last month here....

Actually yes I am one of the fools that took my suppliers advice. We have a 10,000 gal tank and buy in tanker loads about 8500 gal. Our supplier said hold off back 6 weeks ago. Right now we are riding it out he says diesel will PROBABLY go back down once we get thru this cold spell and all the crude oil tanks fill up. Rode it this far so guess we will wait another 4 weeks by then will be getting close to crop time. Who knows. Wait 4 weeks and call me a fool.

An independent station here is selling gas for 2.13. The brand name companies even Wally M is at 2.41. Hard to figure. Benchmark crude has held at $50 a barrel for several weeks since first of year but somebody has been raising retail price at pump anyway and pocketing the profit. Would not look for gas or diesel to go lower because the switch over to summer blends is just around the corner or maybe happening now and that is an excuse to raise the retail price some more.

Ignoring regional, transient and opportunistic government tax issues, yes, I do expect crude and fuel prices to continue to decline.

If you fallow it up the 10 is going to roads and not to new buses bike trails ect. Our present law did allow for road use taxes to go for too many other projects not a road.

I saw an article that supports Dean's thoughts , ALL the storage at Cushing Ok. is 2/3 full and growing at a million gals a day. They need to get rid of it somehow , and low prices usual;ly works !

Yes, that 10cents a gallon tax hike is sticking in my craw and I will take it all the way to the voting booth.

Market flucuates depending on various factors not just price of crude- one is seasonal demand for different blends and lead time to switch requiring refinery maintenance and resetting. End of winter light, volatile blends of gasoline and diesel needs a couple weeks worth of rotating refinery changeover toward end of winter like in March. Refinery capacity can be reduced in a niche market by natural disaster like Katrina shutdown around gulf coast a few years back--and one niche market problem right now is the Southern California market with it's refinery fire/disaster/shutdown drawing fuel stocks from other markets. Market predictions for summer well prices vary from $25.00/barrel to $65.00/barrel depending on Middle East situation, Saudi political will, Venuzuela politics, Nigerian election, China economy and demand filled by Russian oil and American business and politicians election ideas-- and coin toss just before media deadlines. The Low Church Old Order Amish are probably laughing at English right now. RN

Continue to decline? Fuel prices have INCREAED over 40 cents a gallon in NE Kansas in the last month.

Were are still around $2.00 up here.... Haven't been out in a few days, but going to get Casey today, so I will look and see! Probably up to $2.10 or so.... Glad I bought my 100 gallons when I did!!! CHEAPEST gas I have EVER bought! :)

Just be patient, as spring rolls by and summer comes on fuel prices could quite likely rise a lot more....Consumers have to pay the price regardless of any logical reason, other than need and greed, for the inevitable increases the busy times of year usually bring about. It's reality Folks.....

When winter gets over, then the lower cost spring blend will be here for a short while. Then the expensive summer blend will be here. There is probably STILL some high priced ethonal around.

Were importing more oil than we use. Storage facilities. are getting filled up. Oil is in for a big drop.

All gasoline in the USA is priced based on Brent crude oil (foreign crude oil) which closed at $61.02/bl today. WTI crude oil (American produced crude oil) closed at $50.52. Of course the refiners pocket the difference. This partly explains why gas prices are where they are.
