My Deere G has a core that is questionable I have seen replacements with gaskets. Questions are has anyone recored one?? What kind of episode was it? In the past for soldered tanks, I sent them to a shop that does it. Kind of want to do it while its apart OR WOULD IT BE BETTER OFF TO TAKE IT TO A SHOP EVEN IF I HAD TO BUY THE PARTS (As they are a little unique)

I just resealed my rad on my 28 D . I made my own cork gaskets. The biggest thing is to make sure the tanks are true. I took mine to a engine shop that flattened heads and had them trued . While it's apart rod the core for blockage and paint the tanks inside.

I have recored many generator radiators. As long as the seal surface is good. Shouldn't be a problem. I use new gaskets and some sealer.

You could do it. With the cast iron tanks, it would probably not be a problem. Getting the bolts out is a bit of work, especially the bottom mounting bolts. They can be a bear to get out. On our "G", the mounting bolts were broken off. Finally got them out. Not easy.

Just as a reference, I took my JD 60 radiator to a shop,.........every bolt in the cast tanks broke off. Core and gaskets in the $325 range, labor to remove broken bolts.......final cost $925. If you have the time and resources, do it yourself. ..............My opinion only.
