OT- Marshmallow farming in North Carolina

I saw this video about 25 years ago. I was at a crop insurance adjusters meeting. The Farm Bureau folks showed it, I never did know for sure who produced it.

I imagine it was a lot more work ,hanging all those spaghetti up on the trees, than it was to take them down!
 
I always wondered where pasta came from. lol. I had a co-worker many years ago that worked a lot of jobs until he about starved to death. One of the jobs was working on a macaroni bender.
 
I've been told grits trees still get a decent crop in cold weather, but the flavor isn't as good. When when cooked, the bad grits taste like boiled sand. You have to add butter to help the taste or switch to okra.
