Alright, here are the before and after shots! (washing that is)

After power washing, you can see a lot of red, and some blue too! Wheels must have been cream/white. Can even read McCormick on the side of it!! All ready to go now! Not bad for a days work! :)

I have one sort of like that but it has 36 inch tires on it or should I say did have. I have it taken all apart where it would fit in a pick up truck bed.

Yes, a Number 5 rake. Spent many an hour on a B Farmall in front of one of those. Early tongues were kind of A frame looking. I see yours is later. The one we had was red on the front rims, the rake cylinder was blue along with the swivel rear wheels (the springs and uprights and hubs). The rear rims were cream.

I have one for parts and one I am going to restore. If you need parts, let me know.

If you could, document where the decals are placed and what they were....i.e. McCormick and if they had the IH logo, etc. I will need this info when I get to painting mine and would appreciate it if I could use you as a resource.

I do have the "set up" manual for the number 5.

Sounds good! We may have to work together on them! I am thinking about slamming some paint on mine next week... I think that I could have it ready in 1 day, primered in 2, painted in 2, and put back together in 1.... Would be nice to do it all in one week! :)

The ONLY decals I have been able to find are the ones pictured. As you can see, there is an IH emblem, and then a McCormick.

Haven't seen anything else on the rake... Must have been more, just can't find them!

Looking at this one, it must have been all red except for the rollers and bars, and then the rear wheels were white. Inside the front rims was still bright red!

I think that this one would look REALLY nice all painted up and working in the field behind my 1949 C....

Keep in touch!

Pulled a rake just like that around and around as a kid. Very tricky on sidehills with grass hay! We got a newer 5 bar IH 2 wheel rake that worked a lot better...until you turned too short!

I've got a lot of time in pulling the neighbors JD rake around, it is the same thing, 2 wheeled, arch over...GOOD rakes, until you try to turn or back up!!

I personally LOVED their 3 point 350 rake, and I thought that I had found one I could get cheap enough, but the guy is planning on using it this year... (BS)

The only thing I don't like about these, is that they seem HUGE compared to the tractor... Not sure if it will even fit in my hay field!

It sure does turn on a dime behind the tractor though!
