Tractor hauler problem.

I had a weird problem on my f 350 today. Truck was running all morning. I unhooked a trailer pulled forward to close the tailgate and truck died. Tried to start nothing. Power everywhere but the it won't start. Tow to the shop pulled the starter and tested and nothing. Replaced starter and fired right up.

My question is why did it die in the first place? The starting side of the electrics has no effect on the rest of the system right?

Check the main fuse under the hood above the left front fender. Think it is a 40 or 50 amp, one of the big square ones.

DONT THINK THE REPLACED STARTER WOULD HAVE FUSABLE LINK INCLUDING IGNItION. pOSSIBLE RELAY CONTROLINGstarter just cold not making contact. Did dieing come from starter problem, possibly just cold and died. possible grounding on starter?

All I changed was the starter. It is a 7.3 stroker. It acted like I turned the key off. My friend knocked the HE $$ out of his shin on my bumper hitch while closing the tailgate as the truck died. I'm blaming him.

99% bet it's the cam position sensor. Most common flaw with these engines.

Easy fix. 10 minutes and two wrenches.

Front cover of the engine below and to the right(passenger side) the crank pulley.
