Just bought a new 32" TV for the one room and going to move the 26" to anouther room. The old one had 3 wires connecting to it, New shows for 5 as better situation but 3 works, VCR-DVD player has only the 3 wire connections, What should I do? next it says home mode and retail mode, what is best? Then for Picture Settings it has Energy saving/Standard/Dynamic/ Movie/Natural/User. What do all these mean? Audio Settings has Standard/Music/Movie/User? Book is about worthless like most owners manuals.

I just played around with the audio and picture until I was satisfied. I kept changing the audio until it sounded good. The picture is going to depend on the channel and program to some extent. I think mine's on standard, but fill works on some of the old black and white shows.

Not sure on the wires, end up using what works between 2 devices.

Home mode.

Set the picture and audio to standard.

From there, scroll to the next setting, listen/watch, scroll to the next... See what you like the best. Sometimes one setting works well for sports, another works better for a movie or a concert..... It comes down to personal preference, these are little bit different tone or color/brightness settings to try to match the description. 'Standard' would be the generic setting you would expect out of the box.
