This outfit stopped in our village yesterday, artificial granulated fertilzer is called Bag Muck here. 15 US tons on the trailer at $400 ton = $6000.

NH T7 series developing 220HP with power boost, and CVT transmission.

Wizzo, i remember towing loads that big with a
ford 6810 back in the early nineties... going up
some of the 1in10 hills where i grew up required
lots of shifting... (south Herefordshire, close to
the Welsh border)

6810 new from Ravenhills in Hereford? Mike Hughes & Derek Porter were their sales men.

they were indeed... Mostin someone was one of
the mechanics...
it's a small world! I loved the old 10 series
tractors (and the 3000 i grew up on/learnt to
drive on)
i remember Derek bringing out a 7840 on demo
where i worked, wow, 40kmh seemed really fast
back then! Tried it in reverse too... it's hard
to steer straight at 40k looking over your
shoulder lol...
lots of great memories working on a largish
potato farm with a great group of guys, i think
there were 10 of us full time there in the
early 90s...

Are you still down in 'ereford? Or did you get deported over the Pond for thrashing a Ford tractor to death?

In early 1970's I was assistant unit foreman for Velcourt at Ledbury - based on their blocks of land on Staffs/Shrops border.

In those days Ravenhills supplied all Velcourt's tractors & machinery. The salesman was Geoff Pritchard from Willersley

Lived and farmed on the prairies now for 16
years... in about 1980 velcourt ledbury farmed a
block of land right across the road from where i
lived as a kid... (Bromsash), i vividly remember
them pulling in with a tw35 and 7 furrow (i think)
dowdswell plough, a tw25 on a cultivator and a
tw15 with an amazon drill, the field across from
our house was 86 acres (used to be 5 fields) and
had two big walnut trees in it... i seem to
remember a white unimog too...
