A movie with Mel Gibson and Sissy Spasick,,the whole movie had JDS,,I think Mel Gibson had a 3010?

Do you remember the one movie that had Art Carney on a 60 Oliver?
rrlund should know this one, it was based on a true happening in Michican.
 
And don't forget the oldie but goodie Earthworm Tractors. Just might be the only Hollywood movie with tractor in the name.
 
The old man on a lawn tractor was "The Straight story" Riding a John Deere 110 from Laurens Iowa to somewhere in northeast Iowa.
 
I don't think it was a 60. A 77 or 88 if I remember right. It was the movie about the whole PBB feed mix up here. I fire retardant labeled as Firemaster was mixed with feed at the plant near here instead of a protein supplement called Nutrimaster. The plant was torn down and there's a chain link fence around the whole place. Thousands of head of cattle were killed and buried in mass graves because of it.

But on another note,the movie with Jessica Lang,the old guy who shot himself in the movie had Olivers.

There was a made for TV movie around 1980 or 81,starred Patricia Neal. The movie was All things in season. They had a couple of 4020 Deeres.
 
The Ron Howard movie was a bitter harvest. The kid rolled the john deere down the hill to get the fathers attention,he found the first sick cow and didn't want to have her try to get up.
 
the movie with jessica lang was Country . the one with mel gibson was The River. there was one with judy garland that had a runaway ford n series in it but i cant remember the name of it. kevin Bacon played chicken with a tractor in Footloose. i cant remember the nane of ron howards movie but it was about pcbs i remember art carney sitting on an oliver. the johney cash bio had an oliver in it. Killdozer was about a cat that was possessed by an alien and had neville brand in it.of mice and men had a steam tractor in it. there was a movie about a norweigen that lived in minnesota that married a german girl after ww1 that had a farmall regular in it cant remember the name of that one either

The movie about Johny Cash life he owned a Oliver 88 or 77. The scene down by the lake trying to pull something out. I do not remember it real well.
 
There were a gangster movie in the late 1970s where this man wanted to retire to the farm and give up the outlaw life. It was the first time I had ever seen a UC Allis Chalmers.
Can someone tell me the name of the movie?

In RV the hitch hiker jumps on a trailer or truck with one.

I saw more, but can't recall them. Just remember stopping to try and see what tractor it was.
 
I remember a steam tractor, seems like it was one of the "Tremors" monster movies... It was sitting in the background through most of the movie, then in the end they used it to kill the worm monster? Can't remember the details.
 
The Johnny Cash movie had a Oliver 77 in it. I don't remember who, but someone on here posted at that time about supplying tractors for that movie. There were lots of pictures and info. The tractor sliding down the hill was on a rail to guide it. I never saw the entire movie, but woke up in the recliner late one night to see a Oliver combine in Children of the Corn. I thought the movie with Jessica Langes had AC's in it. Kevin Costner, It's Not a Perfect World had a 3010 with a 4 row front mount cultivator. The baseball movie he did he had a John Deere utility mowing off his corn crop to make a baseball diamond. The movie about the song about Billie Jo McAlister jumping off of the Talahatchee Bridge had a Farmall M with a rear mount cultivator in it. Saw a movie on TV when I was young about the wheat harvest with a lot of Massey Clippers in it, I don't remember if it had Bogey or Allan Ladd maybe? I think the movie was Tremors, had giant worms attacking people in the desert had a Cat D8 or D9 pulling a trailer to get away from the worms. That's all I can think of right now. Chris
 
When they filmed bridges of Madison county, one of my co- workers leased a restored JD 4020 to the film co. He had to teach Clint Eastwood and Meryl Streep how to drive it. He said Meryl caught on right away but Clint had a hard time.
 
In that movie (Bridges...) set in 1970 there is a fleeting glimpse of a JD with a Sound Guard cab as they pass it on the road....odd since the SGB was not made til 1973....

The old man on the garden tractor was Richard Farnsworth, a character actor who played mostly cowboy types in many movies and TV programs. Always looked like he should be smoking a Marlboro.
 
Wow, Larry, this is one topic that keeps us thinking. "The Mating Game" with Tony Randall and Debbie Reynolds had an older AC setting in the barnyard. I just saw it a few weeks ago on TV.
 
Remember his Ford flatbed pickup? what year was that truck? I remember him painting it with a brush,to ward of the police,he stold the paint and brush too,and all the supplys to camp and hide out in the woods too!
 
just thought of another one!,,,,Motel Hell,,,,he used an 8n with a posthole digger to plant people,fatten them up,,then butcher them to make sausage,,,,,Motel Hell,,,dont remember what year it came out,the guy was a famous actor,,,cant remember his name?
 
An older Russell Crowe epic I saw quite a few years ago, "For The Moment", had Crowe's ladyfriend (Christianna Hirt) running a John Deere styled D on a farm in Manitoba.
