OT---credit card payment

strange but true, tried to make a citi card payment with a master card and was told that they can't accept credit card payments!!!what's up with that ?? be like my bank not accepting my check....
 
They figure if you can't make your payment in cash you are in financial trouble. Not the same as your bank not accepting your check as they can see if you have the funds to cover the check.
Plus unless you were trying to pay with another citi card why would they want to support the competition.
 
HERE IN Iowa we cannot take a credit card for a car payment but we can take a debit card for the same payment.
 
Just take one of the many offers in the mail box to transfer an outstanding balance over to another card.
 
I'd guess because they don't have enough money to cover it ? Or else they are trying to get double the rewards ?
 
Probably the results of a young fella (under 20) a few (10 )years ago that figured out how to milk the credit card system when he got an unsolicited card in the mail and then got another and another and paid the last one off with the newest one. IIRC, he had a Mil or so in real estate and a couple of exotic cars, AND - good on him, being under aged he could not be charged. Check your memories.
 
And where do you think those "rewards" come from? Not out of the air. The hefty fees the card companies charge merchants pay for rewards programs.
