I seem to remember reading here some time back about putting a small filter on top of the sediment bowl in the fuel tank, I think the top was drilled out bigger and the filter would fit in, I searched awhile but couldn't find what I was looking for, thank you, rod

Most new sediment bowl assemblies come wit ha filter on them which is a fine screen that sticks up about and inch in the tank

Be nice if the new assembly came with a screen that fully covered the entire pick-up point and not just a open top for the last gallon of HEAVY gunk.
Most of my fuel issues came from the light junk that floated with fuel slosh.

Remove the sediment bowl and roll up a fine screen like a cigarette and put it in the tube of the bowl. Also, some sediment bowl assemblies have an extended neck on them so the last bit of sludge cannot drain out of the tank.

Ya on my BA I had a leave or 2 in the tank that caused and odd problem till I finally fished it out of the tank which was not easy

steiners sells the little brass screen that fits in the sediment bowl stem and goes up inside the tank. some of the bowls are a little big and you put a drop of solder on the filter tube for a tight fit. they work really well.

Exactly!! I did that on my M. A little dab of JB Weld will keep it in place.

NAPA has a paper filter that just drops into the glass sediment bowl. Works great.
