BKT tires ???

I know I have asked about tires a lot lately but I'm just trying to do some research before I drop 900 on a new set. I can get BKT 13.6 38 for 485 each... Is that a good price. What do you think of BKT tires in general?

Thanks again,

For Pete's sake. Just buy a set of tires will ya. Every tire will
provide different results for different individuals depending on
their uses and conditions, just the same way a automobile tire
might be excellent for one person and terrible for another. If
you are happy with the price, just get them. Tractor tires
are, expensive no matter what name is stamped on the
sidewall.

Don't have any BKT rear tires, but have some three rib fronts
and they seem fine. Not happy with a set of Aukuret tires I put
on our skid loader. Hardly any wear, but lots of weather
checking and only two years old.

Go to your local farm tire shop and price a few
different brands.Ask the guys which they
recomend. They see em all, they know what
works.Decide what you need.Bottom line dollar,or
'performance'.Then buy a set.Since you probably
not be doing alot of real heavy farming, they will
probably rot off of outlast you.The longer you
mess around trying to decide, the price will go up
AGAIN!Tires ARE expencive.No doubt.There is a wide
range of prices. But wichever way you go,buy from
your local guy.In the long run,the 'cheapest'/best
place. And it helps keep him in business....

pretty sure they are used as the "factory" tire on
new hollands in europe... not got any drive tires
from them, but have several implement tires, they
seem ok... iirc they are an Indian company... are
they better than chinese, who knows... but the
Indians have bought a lot of European factory
machinery etc in last 30 odd years...

If you price a Titan or any other tire brand it would be about the same price for one tire that you can buy the pair(2)of BKT tires for. For what your going to do with it, It wound not bother me to buy them and put them on. I don't think you will ware them out and will still be on it when you let her go. I bought a new one to put on my Oliver 1550 utility because it had one new one on it when I bought it. New rubber is new rubber on an old tractor. No sense spending more money than you have to so just buy them. There are plenty of us out there who have them on tractors because they get the job done. Bandit

Thanks again,

I've got a set on a D19 AC that are 9 or 10 years old. I don't use this tractor a lot but it is a working tractor. I bought another set last year for an 826 IH that I use nearly every day. I would buy another pair for the price difference.

I am thrilled that you are not buying a tractor, as it would take you years and years of questions to finally decide. Tires are going up, why not wait another month or two and then start your research over again. Tom

Thank you Tom for your smart a$$ response... I knew I would get a few of those. Unlike you, being the 19 year old that I am I don't have a ton of money to go and drop it on a hi dollar pair of tires...that's why I like to do some REASEARCH before I buy something.... But Thanks anyway.
