John Deere 6220 any good?

My dad is looking a buying a 2003 JD 6220 for a loader tractor, he has mostly been IH but local dealer let him try this out for a week. Whats the good bad or ugly on these? I posted this on the JD section also. Thanks

I bought a new 6330 a couple of years ago. So far, I can not fault it; an excellent utility tractor

I think the 6220 is an earlier related model. I would expect it to be similar to the above.

The JD 6220 is actually a better tractor than the later JD 6230. The 20 series still had a simpler fuel injection system that does not have the issues the newer 30 series do.

I have a JD 6400 MFWD loader tractor. It just turned over 17,000 hours on it. This tractor is just the older bigger brother to the JD 6220. All and all they are a proven chore type tractor.

My in laws have had one since new. Not one problem yet.
Has around 4500 hours on it last I knew. Very nice to
operate.

We have a 6400, great loader tractor. It has the
power quad trans, and cab, 2wd. Great tractor so
far. I have heard some not so good things on the 30
series. Local operation has two 6430's......and they
have had issues enough with them. Buddy of mine is a
mechanic at Deere, aand says he works on the 30
series a lot.

They have a good reputation here but do NOT fit a turbo charger - the engines dont like the extra HP. A new engine is expensive!
