Drug this out of a brush pile today... I can't find a tag on it anywhere and it seems to be pretty good shape... Can anyone tell me what kind it is?

I pulled 1 like it back in the late 50's behind an H. The moldboards are different on this one. IHC.

If you ever tried to do any serious plowing in any conditions stalks or not WITHOUT coulters you would be putting them on imideatly. And you would be looking for a set of Yetter (Always ran Yetter coulters as soom as they were avaible) or Lanze coulters as they do way better than the regulars. Even the walking plows of a hundred fifty years ago and cutters on, just mounted up from bottom like a big knife blade as back at that time they already knew the value of cutting the furrow slab off before turning it over.

In this rocky soil there are places that the coulters will lift those small plows right out of the ground. In stalks, they would plug up real soon. Once taken off, they stayed off.

Teddy, Teddy, relax You are both right and wrong. Right that plows with colters tend to plug in combined corn stalks but not so right when plowing rocky ground. True, the colters may lift the plow some when running over a big rock but that is better that hittig it with the plow shear.
