Larry posts such interesting pictures of the eastern parts of the U.S. Keep them coming, I've never been east. Here are some pics of my place here in Iowa after we had a heavy rain last summer. Quite a contrast.
Looking out my back door. Hog house turned wood working shop on the left. Cattle shed turned into a truck repair shop in the distance and the little building with the brown door is where the chickens reside. The barn on the right is, well, the barn.
A little water in the distance
A lot of water. We live in what they call pothole country. A heavy rain is not our friend. I had to replant these beans but I couldn't get it done till July 9th. The re plants yielded 27 bu/acre.
Too much at one time. I got the gauge at a farm show in Memphis a year ago. We don't irrigate so it's unique for this area.
Checking the beans. I took this pic to show my dad how much the beans had grown. He was in the nursing home at the time.
And the corn, once again for my dad.
And a couple of the grandkids acting up for the camera. This one makes me smile.
