Good morning gentlemen, I just purchased a 1937 Model A motor from a Baldwin Gleaner combine in central Kansas. I intend to use the diamond block engine for my Model A, however, I am going t salvage and sell the extra parts that I don't need. I have a Kingston governor, Kingston carb (parts only) a straight exhaust manifold, generator and starter. I also have the 1928 radiator and shroud with the Ford shell.
Does anyone know if there is a forum anywhere for these parts? Thanks, Glen Williams

I had a retired machinist tell me that the Ford engines off Gleaner combines were actually Ford MODEL C engines. He told me some of the differences but I've forgotten those now. He went through Kansas and bought several of those Model C engines off old Gleaners to use in the aircraft that he was builing. Hd said that the Model C engines had more HP than the Model A's.

He had the airplane that I saw ready to fly to the Experimental Aircraft show im OshKosh, WI. that year.

Thank you, that's interesting to know. I've been told the diamond block motors had heavier castings and many had high compression heads and pistons. If the weather gets warm and stays warm I plan to pull the head and see if this one is high compression or not.
