OT: Spring is close

Saw honeybees on the maple behind my shop today.
If you look close, you can see them on the blooms near the middle of the photos. It has been a very cold winter here. The local feed and seed store had seed taters for sale yesterday. Probably buy 150 lbs next week.
Time sure flies.

We have always had our worst snow storms in March over the years. I just wanted to show the little bit of hope I saw today. In 1960, it snowed 3 Wednesdays in a row in March and did not melt any until after the last snow.

You're giving me spring fever. When we used to feed the cattle ground ear corn and we still walked the feed bunks the honey bees would swarm in the feed wagon in the early spring, looking for sugar or nectar in the ground feed before the blossoms were out. Every time I dipped the pail in the wagon full of buzzing bees I flinched in anticipation of getting stung. Never got bit. They probably didn't have any territory to defend.
