Adding liquid to the planter.

Has anyone added liquid to a JD 1760 planter? I found a company that uses a replacement seed firmer with the options to do a splitter or direct in furrow. I'm looking at options but will do it this year. It's time. I'm behind the curve and want to get a good starter down in with micros. Also, I'm assuming that someone out there has added equipment to band things like boron on milo. Banding seems like a cheaper option than 2x2.

I can see my options in the brochures, but I want real world experience from those that have done it.

I put liquid (conklin) 9-18-9 starter in the seed furrow. just a simple hose puts on approx 5 gpa. No 'fancy' splitters or such. The guys who started me claim up 30 bushel 'advantage useing it.Mine, not so much. But I believe it more than pays foe it self.I see better and more even germination.I believe it is well worth the cost/effort. I'm sold......

Most including us use 18 gallons of 10-34-0 to the side and a bit below the seed bed with good results.

My 1770 planter is set up for 2x2, and I use 18-20 gal of 10-34-0. CCS vacuum with variable population. Best planter I ever had.
