Mahindra vs Anything

Was at a farm show today, and the local New Holland dealership was pushing their Mahindra tractors. Nice looking tractors, but not impressed with detail. Sloppy welds and castings with grinding groove marks all over them did not impress me.
What do you people think of Mahindra tractors?

they are gaining in popularity around here more all the time for whats its worth the only one I have sit on had a steel hood compared to plastic, fiberglass. I don't know about the new ones

I have an 03 E-350DI 35Hp that I Bought with 50hrs on it ... It is an Enormous Tractor... And heavy Duty all the Way... I cant Speak for others on this Subject as far as the newer Versions...But I would Buy a NEW One in a Minute if I needed One...Pulls a 5ft bush Hog with ease and 16 Disc Plow...Not a problem and still has the orig Battery, "Seriously" Larry in Ne

I did like the fact Mahindra comes with a 5 year warranty, steel hood, and the most comfortable seat I ever sat in on a tractor.

I would think trade in value would have to factored in when buying. A used Mahindra will not be worth as much as a Kubota or domestic named tractor. Most likely a decent tractor for money otherwise.

I have a 6530 that I like really well. I realize that it won't have much value as the better known tractors, but I'm okay with it. My biggest complaint about them is refilling oil after changing. Miserably slow, AND THE PAINT JOB SUCKS

That's true.
I was quoted today brand new 2015 Mahindra, 2 wheel drive, 40hp, no remotes, $12,900. Good deal or not?

Trade in would need to be figured in for some.

For me sale price and repairs are the only cost I would worry about.
I have never traded in anything.

Come to think about it the only place I have ever sold a tractor or car for that matter is the scrap yard.
I run them till they won't run any more then get rid of them.

Soon to become the Belarus of this decade. Already hearing stories from the diesel injection people. Parts availability, almost zero.

Neighbor bought one about 6 years ago. Said there would be no more. Had a lot of trouble with it, little nitpicky things mostly. And so far can't sell it.

Had a neighbor buy a 40 hp. his son ran a fence post thru the radiator, when it was 6 weeks old. Waited for over 4 weeks for a radiator and cost was outrageous .

Had a 5500 for a couple years. A very heavy built, smooth, quiet, comfortable capable tractor. Sold it like a dummy. Later had a 6530 a couple years. A very heavy built, smooth, noisy, comfortable capable tractor. The 1000 series with the 4-cyl were quiet. The 30 series with the turbod 3-cyl are loud. They've been building tractors since the 1950s so i guess they are about the best out there. Oh, the best seat ever!

I bought a 2012 model 8560 in Feb of 2013 (the largest they offered at that time). No problems so far. Great cab, very handy controls, superb hydraulics. Being an old Oliver guy I do miss thr Hydra-power but I have learned to live without it. This is the 70 pto hp model.

They are the number 3 selling tractor in the USA. They are the number 1 selling tractor world wide. I would not be afraid to own one.

they used to sell them in the next town, neighbor bought a new 1. called me to fix a flat on the rear. Rim was so thin it was almost impossiable to remove the tire without bending it. When I got the tire off the rim was so rusty we could not mount the tire tubeless. He had so many other problems the dealer took the tractor and gave back his 4010.

I have one of their SCUTs Max25. Rims and tires are made in Missouri by Titan, Deck and Loader are also of American manufacture.
Mine uses the same 3 cylinder Mitsubishi engine that is in millions of pieces of small equipment world wide.
Injector pump and injectors are Bosch!

If they have a problem from my point of view it would be lack of dealer support and not seemingly allowing anyone to hang up one of their signs and selling.

Neighbor has one. I would guess about 65 HP. He does a lot of haying, mostly small bales. I see them pulling the Mahindra home several times each summer. Usually with a Massey 1105.

As good, if not better than just about anything else on the market. You'll hear all the anecdotal comments from people who don't own one, but very little real world facts to back up what they say. Parts are readily available. Excellent warranty, and great owner satisfaction reports.

I NEVER believe those "a neighbors 3rd cousins best friends uncle says...." kinda remarks. BS X 10.

I have demoed one (from a local dealer) If I was buying today, I'd give them just as much attention as anything else. In recent years I've bought new Deere, Kubota, New Holland and Case IH utility tractors for a business I own. In case anyone has any illusions, those brands have their share of negative experiences. I'm sure Mahindra has it's share too.

I know a guy who bought with loader and brush hog, one dirt cheap. It didn't run. Needed a battery, a muffler. Low hours, lack of TLC. Owner dies. Wife sold it cheap.

That said, everything breaks down and needs repaired. Without parts and a good dealer support, everything is junk.

I wanted a sub-compact backhoe. Settled for a Terramite. I wouldn't trade it for a Bota or an Almond. I have no local dealer support. I have to call the people who made it, they have good advice, ship parts to me, but I have to fix it.

Unless you can fix your own problems, a good dealer is expensive, but necessary.

I have a little eMax 22 with a loader, two speed hydro, 4 WD, 3 cyl diesel, and I'm very impressed with the quality of it, even being a low end tractor. Good strong, heavy castings and good quality welds. It does have plastic hood, side panels and fenders. They are nicely made. Cost control I imagine on non critical parts. The tractor is build by TYM and the engine by Deadong (maker of Kioti) in Korea. Mitsubishi has, and maybe still is, building engines for Mahindra. There are two large dealers in my area. Haven't had any issues so don't know about dealer support or parts. I think they are worth a look.

Just my hands on experience.
