Does anyone know of someone who paints tractors and equipment in western pa or eastern ohio I don't have the time or a place to paint equipment! But I do have a truck and a trailer i can haul my stuff somewhere! Any info would be great!

Brian,

What part of Western PA are you in?

Rocky Mountain Garage in New Stanton, PA is a good place to get stuff painted, if it needs heavy prep work.

That is where I go when I am too lazy to paint it myself. I did autobody professionally for 15 years. For me to make a recommendation means I would trust them with my own stuff.

There is another guy who is in McDonald, PA. I don't know if he is still doing it. I'll check on Monday and let you know. However, you would be very impressed with Rocky Mountain.

Some of those guys that do it for a living know all the tricks to getting things done quickly. In my area a paintjob on an 80 HP tractor is easily $2500. If it needs rust repair price climbs from there. At $700 for good quality paint there is still a weeks worth of labor @ $50/hr.

Same as profiting from painting a car properly.

Are you implying that no one is willing to pay fair labor on a paint job, because it is a tractor?

I am up North but a friend of mine paints. He charges just like the next guy. I get I think abit better job cause I help him he is in business to make money not go broke trying. there are folks out there to help you, good old farm hands, just trying to make a living. I have seen some work done by the Pros. Not on my Tractor. Keep a sharp eye and a tight Wallet. best of luck. All Old iron needs the be cared for...

" PAINT JOB " has just as many meanings as people attempting to do one.....and hence, just as many prices.

Sorry I don't know anyone closer to you that does tractors and equipment. Rocky Mountain is still your best bet if you want to travel down that far. They do all kinds of media blasting and use top notch ppg epoxy primers.

I don't know if I can accurately give you an idea of price... I can say the last thing I took to them was 2 axle mount duals with the 20.8-42 tires still on them. They sandblasted down to bare metal, then epoxy primed and painted with my topcoat for $350. that included masking off the tires, and blasting and painting both sides of the rims. lots of surface area with 2 wheels that are 6 foot tall.
