There was a guy in a local town that set up tracks all over in his basement, I don't know how many trains he had but it was COOL, set up like you have. There was shelves of them running the whole distance of the basement.
 
Nice setup, at Hampton, Minnesoda there is a restaurant that had an electric train that ran all around the room at the celling level. Haven't been thar in several years, and don't know if its still there, maybe some of the Mn. folks would know.
At the Floyd county museum at Charles City, Iowa they had an elaborate train set up.
 
The Spencer IA fair has a large building dedicated to a huge model train as well, neat to see.

I used to have a train set with one of those Chessie engines, might of been two don't remember that was over 50 years ago.
 
There's another one like that across the fwy from the Tulare Ag Center in Calif . Polly's ? Any body sure ? Prime Rib place ....
