Battery Maintainer on 24 Volt?

I want to put a battery maintainer on my JD 760 (5020 Industrial). It has two 12 volt batteries. Can I have it maintain both batteries? How? If I hook up to just one battery, will it maintain the other also since they are hooked together? Thanks for the help.

You will need a second Maintainer one for each battery or rotate them, and you will need to run positive to positive and neg to neg according to the markings on the battery, Those 24 volt systems are in a world of their own, most are converted to 12 volt by now...in which case one maintainer would service both battery's...

If hooked up in series you would need 2 chargers if parallel you only need one

I have a 24 Volt 4020, and use two 12 Volt maintainers, one corrected appropriately to each battery.

I only use the tractor a few times a year and the maintainers are always plugged in.

The setup works VERY well.

I have a batteryminder 12248 used on just 12v. However batteryminder makes other brands for 24/36 and 48 volt systems.
