I was wondering if a person can view the equipment up for auction the day before the auction and if any one has been to one their auctions. does tractors with low hours sell high or with in reason or cheap place to a tractor, do they tell the good, bad, and ugly before selling a tractor thanks for any input

Yes, you can go through the whole yard and look at the tractors. You can start them up and check them out as you wish. They will tell you some things and you have to take the chance on your own judgment when the auction starts. I bought one there and it has been a really good one.

I have been to their auction a couple of times, it's huge and lasts all day. You have the option to bid online if you choose. Nice equipment that usually brings top dollar. Go to their website and look at their previous pics and auction results. Good luck!

They usually have a good crowd. It is a well advertised auction with a lot of regular jockeys there. There is rarely a "deal" there. The only time I was ever able to get a "deal" was very late in the sale when the buyers thinned out. It is a gamble thought.

Good clean low hour equipment will just about always bring a premium. There is just about always a buyer that will "pay" for the good stuff.

i have been receveing up-coming auctions brochures in the mail, from a long time auction register ago..it shows ever things been auctioned off,, i think you can regiester for them from their web site..

Not to impressed with the Polk crew. I delivered a moderately rare tractor there for a guy. The tractor had some quirks so I tried to explain the starting procedure and was blown off. They had no interest in what I had to say. They just new they had a rare tractor and it looked good on the bill. I put a reserve on the tractor to somewhat cover the owners butt and it brought JUST over the reserve.

I've been to two up here in central MI area but both were for private owners of collections. The owners were on site and anything you wanted to hear run or ask questions about, they made sure it happened. Now can't comment on "consignment" sales but would just set your price to pay based on the actual info ( OR LACK OF IT ) on a certain item. Just because someone else chooses to be stupid , don't let yourself be lured in too. There's enough "private collections" being sold off every year lately that contain pretty much anything anyone would want, that I wouldn't even go to a "consignment" sale myself. They ran a very professional sale at the ones I was at.

I have knowen Denny for over thirty years . He will get all the market will stand and maybe 10% more . But he will always tell ya when you have paid enough . Myself i have bought a lot of tractors when he was in the box as he was one of the auctioneers that use to do the selling at a couple sales i use to go to.

I have been to a few of their sales. They have a reputation in the antique tractor business but they are still in business. I will let you folks decipher that. Mike

Lack of knowledge on this site is amazing. First, it is not Dennis Polk Auction. It is Polk Auction and Dennis does not own. It is a good auction for buyers and sellers. I am both and enjoy it.

How about you unload 1000 tractors and remember how to start each one. When I sell there, I make sure I am by the tractor to make sure that its starts. Its not that hard to take care of yourself....
