For the first time in 14 years of owning two Honda ATV's I have a problem. Have not used mine since December. Went to use it today and it will not turn over I did the checks in the manual including the main fuse. When I hit the starter button there is no noise whatsoever. Battery is now fully charged, lights are very bright. But when you hit the starter the lights don't dim at all.
What's the common cause for this It is 2011 Rancher ES

I had a problem with my Honda a few years ago, what I found was the mice chewed the wires in the battery box, mine has the battery under the seat, I would look at your wires and see if there's any damage to them. A place to start at least.

check the kill switch also. my yamaha and polaris will do the same thing if you bump the kill switch by accident. head scratching moments....

Could be time for new brushes in the starter...Honda has a known problem with these. I found mine on-line for under $10.

Hondas will crank but not start with the kill switch on

Kill switch is centered, battery double checked, Battery cables clean and tight. Green neutral light, right lever pulled, nada.
Mice was my thought. Ran when parked LOL.
If the headlights, dimmer, shift buttons all work on the handlebar switch can the starter button be bad?
Where is the solenoid? I am working with just the operator manual.

The starter should be able to be found on the engine. I don't have a Rancher handy but the starter is usually visible on Honda with some covers removed. You could lightly tap on it after you check for power with a test light on the starter while pressing the start button.

try jumping direct to the starter terminal--if it spins then its in a wire connection somewhere on the starter/solenoid circuit

We have a few 04 ranchers that the starter buttons are getting finicky on, we hold them in and wiggle the button around until the contacts make connection. My experience is that if it was a starter problem you would still hear the relay click.

Come to think of it, mine was acting up also and took my thumbnail and clicked it a couple of times and it has worked ever since.

Like other have said, check the "kill switch" on the handle bar. I have bumped it several times getting off the machine.

If it is in the run position, then turn the key on, make sure it is in neutral, and pull the back-up rope starter.

Yes , which is stupid . The Yamaha will crank will kill switch off. The Kawasaki won't crank so you look to the kill switch. I never use it but when someone else rides the ATV they leave it off. If it cranks you don't look for it to be off.

I had to replace a brush in my Foreman, at the dealer
they were $18 each, just replaced the bad one! It was
easy to change it, otherwise I would of done both.
