Guys I was looking at a 1494 fwd, low hrs, power shift , need some input, good , bad etc. parts availability? Thanks

I bought a 2500 hr. 1490 mfwd a few weeks ago, and so far it
has been a very good tractor. No complaints. I also bought an
Allied loader for it and it is making a good loader tractor.

I had a 1490 and wish I had kept it. Very few problems. I had to replace the PTO release bearing, The exhaust flange coming off that turbo, and repair the discharge tube off the hydraulic pump. Very easy to work on, parts were reasonable at the time. No problems with power shift. No electronics to mess you up.

Click on the link first of all. I've only seen one
in person(a 1594). POS. Run fast. The thing started
like absolute crap. Nearly impossible to get going
and nothing special once it was. It's just a David
Brown painted red. I you were thinking it may have
something in common with the CIH Maxxum's, you'd be
wrong. The NewAgTalk link will give you more
reasons to leave it alone. It's likely cheap, and
there's a darn good reason for that. RUN RUN RUN

A for cylinder model may be somewhat different from a six cylinder

A 1494 is a totally different tractor. 6 cyl tractors WERE troublesome, but the 4cyls WERN'T.
Your comments are like saying that a JD 4010 is junk, because 2010s had problems.

I agree completely. I have a syncro 1494 with loader on it. It does everything I ask of it.
