This relates back to old posting.
I did trade cars{pre owned},12 month-12000 miles Dealer warranty w/remaining factory warrenty.Certified 172 point inspection. Boy what a joke. Got the 172 point inspection through the mail after the sale was made and they have my money. Find 17 items not even checked and some that were checked but has problems. They marked that the lift gate on this car is ok.A LiFT GATE?????

So Guys and Gals,if you are tradeing for one of these type cars ask to see that inspection sheet first.

My Lesson Learned, hope it helps others.

I really don't think he's complaining because it isn't "new" as much as he just expects to get what was advertised and what he was charged for since those so called "certified" cars are a bit higher on the price scale than the average used car trade in. My personal "fix" to the problem is I NEVER buy from a dealer...and never will.

Icuby...we might "enjoy" the humor more if you ad told us what kind of vehicle you are talking about. "LIFT GATE" on a two-seater sports car or a van or SUV...??

Most of those "points" of inspection are nothing more than something to put after the bullet points on the paper to make things look impressive. The more stuff they put on the paper, the more impressive it looks.
I recall seeing a list of "features" on a new car. As I read through the list, I saw that a lot of those "features" were things that EVERY car had, and were not really "features" at all. Like a brand emblem on the front grill. Red taillights, tires, trunk latch, and the like. Just a lot of nonsense to put on a paper to make it look more impressive. Fluff with no substance.

Just remember that a salesman can tell you anything, and you have no way to prove anything.
