Whatever happened to Owatonna Manufacturing?

I have an OMC mixer and would like to see if I can find some parts. What ever happened to OMC? Did they get bought by someone?

Gehl bought them out. If you have part numbers any Gehl dealer can check for you. Not many parts available for the OMC mixers anymore. Just tried to find some gears for a guy a while back with no luck.

I'm probably up a creek. Have part of the unload auger rusted out real bad. Going to see if one of the guys in the shop at work can make a weld repair but it's going to be sketchy.

Isn't there places that make or repair a lot of combine unloading augers ? I thought Ohio had a place around bluffton area ? can't think of the name ?
Maybe they had a normal size tube and auger and one could be matched up ?

This is what I'm dealing with.

Gehl bought part of them.

Not sure if they bought more than the hay tools. Mustang got the skid loaders.

While at Gehl I saw lots of Owatona hay stuff NO grinder stuff at all. But... a Gehl dealer would be worth a try.

Machine shop or sheet metal working place could make that,
often cheaper than a dealer could get one if one was still
available.

Maybe a grain bin mill wright would be worth checking, they
have more tube parts on hand.

Always fun finding the places that do that sort of work, they
seem to be on a secret lost....

I have access to a journeyman steamfitter and machine shop. They don't do much sheetmetal. I'm going to have a sheet metal shop bend a piece of 16ga with a 3.5" radius bend and we'll just cut out the bad and stitch weld the new metal on over the existing lap joint where there the existing metal is thicker.

Is it just that hole in the side? Is the rest of it solid? If I remember correctly you live close to me (I am outside hanna city). I could fix that for you for a case of beer. I am not going to make it look like new just a servicable patch.

Yeah, we're close. I have someone to work on it but I really appreciate the offer. I'll do most of the dirty work myself (cutting and grinding) but will have the guy at work that welds every day weld it up.

We cut out some of the really bad stuff and stitch welded a patch over it. I'm going to take some JB Weld type stuff and cover the seams tonight to make it water tight (hopefully).

OMC grinder mixer mixing tanks and unloading systems where made by Artsway. The hammer mills where a little different than the Artsway ones but the unload system is the same.

I had a Owatonna mixer in the 1980s. I traded it for a NH 353 mixer just to get a longer unloading auger.

I guess I should have explained better. I work at a Gehl dealer. I have gotten people parts for OMC mills through Gehl. We are also a Arts Way dealer but have had minimal luck getting parts to match up from an Arts Way.
