We just finished loading another one of these Swifty trucks with hay. Its headed for NJ. The trucker just picked this truck up. I guess the other driver quit and just left the truck. Bald tires and all.

These companies are mostly TRAINING companies. They will put ANYBODY in the driver's seat with about 3 weeks of "training" at their terminal. The majority of them quit within 3 months, and the ones that stick around are usually greenhorn rookies. When they do get any drivers with experience, they don't stay around because of things like low wages, excessive time on the road, lack of proper rest, and a host of other problems - usually originating in a dispatch office. In general, I treat my dog better than most of those companies treat their drivers. Doing business with companies like that is risking truck abandonment, wrecks, and late deliveries.

They're the ones that ride the brakes going downhill, then can't figure out why they have no momentom to reach the top on the other side.

Awesome. The brake riding sounds about right. Our driver Roberto got stuck on a slight hill on the way to the hay barn. If he'd gotten up a little momentum it wouldn't have been a problem.

Had a friend that worked as a mechanic for swift since they hauled hay they didn't have to pay him over time because they could use that to be at exempt .
