so, I have been working on one of my JD 336
balers: I pulled the fly wheel, then gear box and
had the main drive shaft straightened. It had a
slight bend in it. I bent one alot worse several
years ago so this is to prevent such a major
problem. Other thing was replace a seized bearing
under the plunger head. I am also replacing the
main drive chain. Last thing, re-time everything.
Obviously, my work shop is outside.

I did my 346 last summer, new guid rails, or wear rails new plunger bearings ect,, I'd replace the other bearing on the plunger while you have the plunger out too.,

Have you taken the rails out and cleaned and painted underneath? It would be a shame to put it together with rust under them.
