Sundog day here in Sask. The temp has improved to just slightly below 0F but that wind is just wild out in the open spaces. Sun shining bright surrounded by sundogs with the air full of blowing snow. My tracks blew over filled with snow within ten minutes or so but I managed to get out with a bale of hay and back safely in the shed. Pic from this morning.

Believe me after a few days of -30 or worse , -5 feels like an improvement. Its the kind of day that you appreciate having some trees around. Yard is nice enough and the cattle feeding area is on the sheltered side of the bush from today's NW wind so it is not bad at all.

I remember that kind of weather, that is the main reason that I have lived the past 30 years in Arizona.

Got a dog here to but she is lying on the floor near the wood stove. I put on all the close I own and some I borrowed and went out and fed the cows a few round bales, enough for a couple of days and then back inside for lunch and now getting ready to go and work on my project tractor. It is great to live here in the north with all of the weather we get each year. I tried the south one winter and did not like it. Couldn't wait to get back north where my toys are and where real people live.

I second what Dick2 stated. The Exact reason I have lived in Sunny AZ since March of 1984. Originally grew up on a farm in North-Central Illinois and remember all too well the snow I had to move just to get out of the driveway. Haven't shoveled an ounce of that white stuff since. Well I think I made my mind up.....Friend of mine is wanting to head to Sask. to pick up a tractor. He asked me if I wanted to go....I thought, Saskatchewan. January. How bad can it be? Well now I know, think I will stay in "balmy" Ontario where today the windchill is almost equal to the provincial deficit!
BTW what is the car in the photo?

Sask. weather is likely going to be a shock to anyone that has not lived here for a while. I've had a lifetime to get used to it.
Yes, that is the 52 Merc I hauled up to the shed this fall hoping to work on it but days like this I lose interest pretty quick. I will post one of my clumsy links here to the video .

Another beautiful photo, rusty6!

I could not live there though... it's gets cold enough in tropical southern MN for me.
