OT Tough day

I had customer asking me every five minutes yesterday when equipment would run, told them as soon as I can.

Drunk driver ran me off road coming home last night after 14 hour day.

Truck gelled up 20 miles from home, first time in 10 years and it was not that cold. I had fuel treated, must have gotten fuel that did not meet spec.

I think if I was faced with a customer bugging me that much, I'd have told them that as it stood, it would run right after he11 froze over, but I might be able to speed things up a little bit if they left me the he11 alone and let me work....... That's one nice thing about working for yourself.....

Twenty some years ago I was sent to fix a computer problem at a customer's company. It was like 30 minutes before they closed. I had no idea what was wrong. So a sales guy from my company called me to tell me how important it was to have it fixed by 5pm. I explained I would get it fixed as soon as I figured out what was wrong and as fast as I could. He told me again how important it was that it was fixed by 5pm. Again I explained... The conversation looped again and again until I told him every minute he was talking to me was another minute I didn't have to work on the problem and hung up. Boy was he ticked!

Why some people persist in believing that demanding things strongly enough makes them happen escapes me.
