Restoring old fords and G.M cars.

I know that there are alot of us who have old cars, trucks and tractors. Hey when I am working on restoring or reconditioning.Finding that right part that I need is a must. I enjoy tring to put them back together as close as I can. It is a really great feeling to see it when you are done doing it. I always say it is not the price of the part but it is how good the part is in when you buy it. Yes I have bought cheap parts but I have found out that some times the repoduction stuff can turn out to be the wrong because the quality of it is not nice enought. Some thing to think about. Brent

Never seemed to be many of those GMC/Chevy pickups like of that era around here for some odd reason ? See a lot more of the ones made after those.

See more of the older series as well Mike. I like that body style, but every one of them I've found are rusted out & I live in a rather dry part of the country

GMC has to be in the early 60s say a 63 or 64 or 65. We still have my grandfathers 1965 Chev Bel-air and it only has 72K miles on it. Wish we could find some one to buy it

Here is my '49 GMC being retrofitted with 302 vs 228. Will be used to haul lighter tractors to some local shows. Won't be the first one to the show but should be nice to have period truck and tractor.

Shep,

Nice pickup! I guess I'm old enough to think that "trucks" have at least one set of duals in the back - LOL!

Going to Flywheelers next week? I'm not going to make it 'til the February show.

My e-mail is always open here so you should be able to just click on send e-mail if on classic or on my man on modern. I also have the history of it since it was new since it is a family one owner sort of car. Grandfather got it new/used from a dealer since it was there loaner car so it had few miles on it when my grand father got it

You've done beautiful work on all your toys!

All great photos... but especially love the GMC with the rugged terrain for a background.

Brent,
I have been following your skid loader restoration. It is looking great! Can't wait to see more progress. I also really like the GMC pickup, very sharp! My first pickup was a '66 Chevy fleet side. That was a few decades ago. LOL
Thanks for sharing the pics.

I like the 65 Bel-airs but the frames were bad about rusting. Not many left around here because of that.

It has had the original and one addition straight six.

It now has its' third 350 V8.

It still has the original 3 on the tree and tailgate.

Hopefully it will last at least another 50 years.

Stan - I am in the same boat. Feb I will be there. I hope to take my "new" Oliver 77 Dsl.

The Mustang is a 1967 coupe. It was bought as a (basket case) this means the car was take apart and thrown around 10 acres of land. The person who I had bought it from there son in law had got mad and took the whole car apart just to get back at her. It took 11 years to bring it back to what it is today.

The G.M.C in this picture is a 1966. My uncle had bought the truck brand new in 1966 out of the delarship. He had it and till he decided to give it to me. The truck is still all factory nothing has been changed not even the stright six engine and a three on the tree plus a AM radio. It is a real fun thing to drive.

This G.M.C is a 1966 for some strange reason it had came from the factory with a stright six engine in it. I have realise that it does to like gasoline. What is so interseting about this truck is that my uncle had bought it new in 1966 and he kept it in great shape. This truck is all factory (amazeing to me).

Okay you got me! Yes that is a case tractor in there but it is a case 440 U. That is another one of my projects that has been going now for the last four years. Need parts, money, and it is slow going on it.I also have a 1956 John Deere 70-D in there. That to is another project of mine that breaks my wallet every time I do work to it.

You got it right! it is not a case 400 but it is a 1965 case 440 Uility that is on jack stands. We had bought two from a car salvage place and made one good one. I have never owned a Uility tractor and always want to get one so I ran into these two and the price was right. The one I kept has a triple speed trans and Hydrostatic steering.

I like those trucks to but every time I find one to buy there out of my price range. I live in So. Ca. this G.M.C I have was given to me from my uncle and still this truck is factory stock nothing changed or replaced. If I saw one for sale I could never aford to buy it. I think you understand I got lucky an uncle understood who would take care of his truck was me.
