1947 Farmall M questions

I'm 14, and I got my first tractor. I got a farmall M. I know a lot about engines, but I'm lost on some basic things on this farmall. Can someone send me a photo of where the oil fill and the hydraulic pump is?

Congratulations on the tractor! You will find a lot of info on here
welcome to the forum also! You should also look into the
farmall/international harvester forum here to which focuses on
these tractors

About the best thing you can do is get an owners manual for it.

If the do not have them here many online places do.

Engine oil fill is right at the front right (from the drivers seat) of the engine and looks like a big wing nut.

The hydraulic pump fills under the fuel tank. Should be a 3/4 pipe sticking up through the top of the casting. Hard telling what fitting or caps may be on it after all these years.

Welcome to the world of old tractors. There could be one of two pumps on it. A "belly" pump is inside the casting under tractor. A different pump could also be by the distributor. If you have later you should see the lines from front of engine. Then again it might not even have a pump at all. This is a random pic of M that I "wrote" over

That's what were here for. You'll learn a lot from that machine. Could also search archives (maybe someone had the problem first) if you have a problem. Once you get the hang of the site it is quite informative.
