I would not blame USA Today.
They most likely just reprinted the local news story from WAFB channel 9 in Baton Rouge La.

You know them Louisiana people can't add.
Their all dumb and rank last in every thing when comes national rankings.

I read that obit. and dropped my teeth. No way did she look as old as she apparently was in that series. Geez, as others have said, I'm getting old. I always thought granny was cool.

They also said Jethro was Ellys brother. Another obvious mistake in their article. Jethros last name was Bodine. Ellys last name was Clampett. I believe they were cousins.
