Now I'm an old Kansas boy that really does not have any ties to Florida or Oregon but I'm only SO happy that Oregon won the way they did. Reason? Right vs. Corrupt. Good morals vs. warthog morals. It's never bad when good triumphs over evil! Go Ducks!

There are literally Thousands of places on the internet where a guy can discuss his teams and games.

I agree with you Jerry. Maybe we're just jealous.
Some people have the luxury of time to set in front of the
bube tube and worship sports heroes.
I mainly go to work, tinker with old tractors as a hobby and
get my heroes from real life acquaintances or history books.
Then, of course, we all burn some time on YT.

I've thrown away a whole lot more $$$ in antique tractors I'll never recoup than watching football.Everyone has 24 hrs in a day just different how we all choose to spend that time.

Ultradog, you are absolutely correct and I for one, appreciate your taking the time to express your sentiments. I believe that it was Karl Marx who said that religion was the opiate of the people. I would modify that phrase to say that sports are the opiate of the people.

I started to watch a football game once,... it only took me about 10 minutes to decide there were better things for me to spend my time on.

Actually a look back at history finds that the emperor of Rome used the "games" to distract the population. One of the last one's ran games for 170 days in one year. Seems we are not as far removed from that sort of thing as we would like to believe. Just now you can't kill anyone in the arena. You cripple them of the football field or beat them half to death in MMA fighting, you just can't kill em. And the crowds will be there cheering them on.

hoops!alabama nor the sec faired very well this bowl season.sec powerhouse no more I think that belongs to the big ten especially with the addition of jim harbaugh.
