well hear goes.. I have found the print requests that I sent to the printer, about 12 that are stacked in the quenue, I don't know what or where that is located, I opened the site and there they were..i have looked at about everything that has any connection to the printer..and have tried about most all of the suggestions. nothing works.. I will uninstall and reinstall next then I will get a new printer if that doesn't do the trick thanks to everbody

OK is your driver outdated? What I would do is a web search stating the make and model of the printer and what operating system I'm using. Maybe it's not even compatible. Or maybe your OS has updated and now the driver won't connect.

I still think your printer connection is corrupted. Try reinstalling the printer software/driver on the PC.

From the print dialog box if you have more than one printer available make sure you have the correct one selected.

I had the same problem with a different cause. The computer was trying to hook up with the printer wirelessly, for some reason it lost the connection. I hooked it up with a wire and set it to print to the "series" printer. Now it works like it should, I just make sure to print to the "series" printer.

This sounds like the issue. I've had it happen a couple of times; it has installed the same printer more than once and is using the wrong one. Mine kept going back to the wrong one even if I pointed it to the correct printer. I had to delete all of them and let it reinstall the printer to fix it.

I APOLOGIZE to all of you that has been trying to help me with this pc printer problem.. it seems I may have left out some important info/or maybe not.. but let me add this, the hp 3600 inkjet printer was installed on a pc that was running on Microsoft XP. I replaced that pc with one using Microsoft 8.1.. the 8.1 apparently already has its Microsoft XPS printer added in the software.can I use the hp 3600 or do I need a new printer. I am embarrassed to ask for more help sorry for long post.. have a happy and safe new year.

well i'm throwing in the towel, i'm giving up. I will purchase another printer.. I am very very thankful to all for the help you have been so kind to offer me..since I have a new pc with windows 8.1, the computer installation disc of the old printer says it is for windows 98 xp etc, and does not say anything about windows 8.1 thanks again, everyone has always helped me back down the road. have a great new years day

Windows 8.1 requires a new printer driver which may or may not exist for the 3600 printer. The HP site should have a driver for download if they exist. Many printer manufacturers did not update to 8.1 so they could sell more printers.

Before you spend the money on a new printer, you might want
to try a work around like this one on the [b:d39adefa2f]HP Website[/b:d39adefa2f]
Or you could try installing a driver for a similar printer.
Here's one for a 3620 on [b:d39adefa2f]HP's Website[/b:d39adefa2f]
Both are free to try, but I do understand that there comes a point
when a new printer is cheaper than the aggravation an old one causes.

here I am again..i have the pc/printer, printing out the test page, but I cant get to print anything else.. example, notepad or anything else, it must need more adjusting or??
