any of you guys ever weigh a bale from a nh850 in orchard grass hay

They can weigh from 1000lbs up to 1500lbs depending on the hay,how wet,how tight etc.

The NH850 manual say you can have a bale as heavy as 1800lbs. I have had them heavier because of going way to slow and packing them in. Found out the hard way when I could not pick one up with my Ford 850 with a loader. Instead of picking them up the rear tires came off the ground which is not fun

Most hay equipment manufacturers advertise weights of bales baling legume crops such as Alfalfa or clovers. Grass bales should be lighter if baled at correct moisture content. Best to determine bale weight is with a scale as there are many variables.

thanks for the replys.i stop at the 3rd setting on the bale size.so maybe 800 to 1000 lb bales
