Visited a friend last night, and he has a JD 6400 and a MF 135 diesel that he wants me to help sell. I'm good on the MF (actually, I sold it to him), but not familiar with the JD 6400. Its 2 wheel drive, no loader. I'll do some more research, but just trying to get an idea of age, HP, possible value (assuming its 20 years old or so, its in "average" condition. He paid 6 grand for it, which I assume is too much.

JD Seller?

Does it have a cab? My brother has a 4x4 w/ldr that he bought new for around $40,000. He has close to 20,000 hours on it now. $6000 seems aweful cheap unless it has issues or a ton of hours.

I'm wondering if this is a JD model number recycling deal- I googled the 6400, and the ones I see are much larger- this looks to be about 40 HP or so, and quite likely a Yanmar rebrand deal, like the 850, etc. Not quite sure what it is- will have to take it out in the daylight and look for tags, etc.

More to come.

I think you're right- that looks much more like it. Dang dyslexia, anyhow.

And looking at TractorData, looks like he's in it right at $6,000, too. Didn't realize it was that new. Will need a little tweaking (like repainting the top of the hood, using the right color this time- LOL) and detailing.
