case shuttle trans

I am rebuilding a case shuttle trans , inside the main shaft there is a restrictor tube with an o ring seal between it and the id of the main shaft . my concern is do I need to be concerned with the seal?
I have been told to leave it alone , but it would seem to make sense to replace it, however I can not get the bugger out due to a previous rebuild where thy staked it in place !!

Could you post a picture of the part in question, and could you be more specific on the model tractor 580-580B-580C?? They used 3 different shuttles. Two in one series and another in later series.

HELLO, IT IS A 580K 1999 I WILL TRY AND GET A PICTURE , PART# IS N7043 FRONT CLUTCH SUPPLY TUBE , THIS IS A PHASE ONE UNIT
