IH 806.....466??

So....got a project im gonna start soon....fixing the 806 my dad rolled a few years ago....I have two tractors to make one out of, and plenty of parts to accomplish that......QUESTION!!! when im done, I will have a lot of stuff left over, but I am pretty sure im gonna be lacking in the motor dept.....

will a IH 466 fit into a 806? is the metal/frame rails long enough to cover it?

Gonna make meself a playtoy.....lol

I will work but not a direct bolt.Lets see frame rails too short, tin too short, timing cover on engine too wide.Unless you have a LOT of spare parts around I wouldn't bother.Oh and if you talking a 466 out of a truck or bus thats another barrel of monkeys.I have a lot of spare parts but couldn't be bothered with the time and effort of repowering an old narrow chassis with a 400 series. Its been done but I would bet there has been more started and not finished than completed.

Brother put a 466 into a 706 to make a puller, made a nice outfit out of it. He'd do another just to have for a yard tractor.

Go for it I am using a 706 gas .It is not as hard as every one tells you.Couple of ways to do it though.1066 frame rails and a 560 hood .Like me I'm using 806 rails and narrow the front engine plate to fit the narrower 806 frame.

Just make sure you let her spin if you hook it to anything that engages the ground. Things break when they get good traction. My uncle claims when wheel clamp bolts break, it sounds like a shotgun went off under your feet.
