Here' a few pictures of my Mom & Dad cleaning up their old Gleaner "E" combine. My dad bought it new in 1969. He held auction in March 1991.
I apologize for the side way pictures. AT least you got your neck exercises in now for the day...LOL!

Thanks for turning them John_PA. My neck feels
better already...LOL

I scanned them like that and turned them in the
file but when I posted them they went back to
original scan position.

My Dad had a Gleaner E for a few years.Ours had a factory cab,10ft platform and a two row corn head.He later bought an E-3 then went to a Deere 3300. In corn he liked the gleaner better but thought the Deere was better in small grain. nice pics thanks for posting. Tom

So, a 45 year old combine.

Set that next to a new Case or JD, with 16 row corn head or 40 foot draper header (or the 60 foot JD is testing out), with auto adjusting everything, 2 computer screens, etc., the hopper holding more grain than that E weighs.....

Wonder where we will be in 2059?

Neat pics.

Paul

Think about. When that combine was selling in 1991 it was 22 years old.

It did indeed look ancient compared the then new IH 1640, 1660 and 1680 series combines. But many people would think a 23 year old 1660 or 1680 combine with low hours wouldn't look all that old compared to a new 5130 or 6130.
