a friend from here in nj got two deer,his daughter got one,he brought some meat to my house ,we ground some just with nothing added and some with some beef trimmings,and made 10 lbs of links with potato and onion,a recipe given to me last year here on this site.

That's a real nice grinder you have. Have you thought about
adding a 2 inch stuffing tube and using meat bags? You can
package your meat faster right off the grinder and with very
little air. I have kept meat up to two maybe an occasional
forgotten bag for 3 years with no freezer burn.
 
Idid mention that to my friend,he called late last night,next time we will get bags,I have the bigger tube,all we need is bags a the rings and pliers,I Can get them at Cabbellas
 
I freeze burger, 1 lb bags in the cheap fold over Glad sandwich bags. After they are frozen I use the vacuum sealer on them.

That is pretty much our plan as well. Tammy lays down a strip of plastic wrap in the pan of the scales. Weighs out one pound, folds the plastic wrap over, then we put that in the vacuum sealer bags. I love vacuum sealers. I think meat keeps about twice as long.
