rubber cement

About a year or so ago someone posted a subject about rubber cement going dry in the tube after the first use.
I also had an abundance of patches, but no cement.
Someone responded suggested storing the tube upside down.
It works.
I now have plenty of tubes of cement, but very few patches.
Whoever made that suggestion stand up and take a bow.

Works for cottage cheese too. Put the carton upside down in the refrigerator (sit it on its lid) and the stuff will last as long as a Twinkie.

And it would need to in order to get used around here. I can't force myself to eat that vile junk. I think it is the consistency.

I love cottage cheese, at least the cottage cheese from the store. The stuff mom used to make left a little to be desired. Sometimes she wouldn't get all the sour tasting water drained or squeezed out of it. Never did care for the home made butter either. Maybe it's because I had to crank that churn every Saturday morning.

Speaking of cottage cheese. I was at a Motorcycle swap meet at Davenport Iowa, back around 10 years ago. I go to a restaurant that had a tractor outside. I thought that will be a good place to eat. When they brought my food there was also a big portion of cottage cheese, which I didn't order. Is that common in Iowa restaurants? I don't mind cottage cheese, but wasn't expecting it. Stan

Works for cans of paint, too.

I love Creole Cream Cheese but can not eat Cottage Cheese even though they are basically the same thing.

The difference is in how they form the curd.

Cottage cheese is heated and is a tart cheese.

Creole Cream cheese is made by adding rennet and is a more sweet cheese. It is also covered with milk cream making it even sweeter.

Not common in my part of Northwest Iowa. Haven't seen it in Davenport either. Maybe someone from eastern Iowa can fill us in.

Has to be REALLY fresh - but try it on some tater chips or Fritos. Good stuff... cottage cheese I mean, not rubber cement.

Jim, that comment brought back the memories of the home churned butter at my Grandmother's house. I loved that stuff.

Cottage Cheese doesn't make it long around here. Everyone but my wife loves the stuff! Mmmmm!

On Ritz crackers too!

Wife will eat cottage cheese but I will not. Goes back 50-60? years to when had a can of milk returned as being spoiled. Folks made that can of milk into cottage cheese. At that time I decided that if the milk was spoiled for one thing it was spoiled for everything else and should have been thrown away. So to this day I will not touch the stuff.

When done using RTV silicone squeeze a little out the end to remove air before putting the cap on.

Speaking of cottage cheese, What is in Greek yogurt? I had some I didn't like & my dog wouldn't eat it and he will even eat pickles.
