My 08 Ford edge tranny problem

I know this is not tractor related, but thought someone here can help me. This has happened twice now. This happened to my wife. Starting out in drive at a stop sign, the car doesn't move, then it does go. I didn't think much of it, since it has been good for the last three weeks. It happened again, and now it is stuck in low. Fluid is not burnt, and correct level. I had it hauled it to a transmission shop. They drove it, and could not duplicate the problem, and all gear ranges work. There is no pan to remove to check for metal, or no filters to change. Any thoughts? Stan

My uncle has an edge that was acting strange when he was taking off from stop signs, etc. and it turned out to be the throttle position sensor. Just a thought.

If you can have a dealer run the VIN for service bulletins, it seems like there was one for replacing a sensor in the trans for an intermittent issue like that . Have to pull the cover on the front side of the trans and the "valve body" to get to it but its not that big of a deal .

Look for TSB 07-21-11 calls for replacing the TSS and OSS sensors , had a guy year or so ago same complaint , he hasn't had a problem since this was done. May or may not be your problem but worth looking into. Any glitch with the throttle body can also give you an issue where the car will just barely come above idle and barely move , and shutting it off and cycling the key a few times before restarting may let it go back to normal if the fault was just intermittent and you can drive home. Progress.......
