Hydraulic problem after replacing hose on one lever

Hi,
I am new to this and have not much experience or skills, I might have qualities but they are not really tractor repair related. So I come up here with my first problem because it looks like there is a lot of knowledge.
I have a ’59 Case 800 with a Dual FEL. I replaced a Hydraulic hose, the very first short one in the back of the tractor coming out of the pump to the adapter (coupler) where it has a spring in it. It is the one that tilts down/empties the bucket). New hose is great, no more leaks but I can’t tilt the bucket and the lever won’t go back in to “neutral’ position even when the motor is turned off. Besides that the Hydraulic works fine, I have pressure and everything. What is going on here, did I do something wrong with that spring or is it something else?
Thanks in advance

Just to try to clarify, it sounds like your loader is working off one of possibly two remote (SCV) valves on the back of the tractor. If this is the case, the hose is part of the tractor, not the loader, and at the point of the "coupler" you may have an end on the new hose that is incompatible to the one that plugs into the "coupler". Check to see that the old and replacement end are identical.

The lever that won't return to neutral sounds like the problem.

Hydraulic valves have a spool inside a bored housing with very close tolerances. Likely a small piece of trash was disturbed while changing the hose and has jammed the spool.

The valve will need to be disassembled and cleaned.

Check the new hose to make sure that there is not a restriction
inside of it. We had that problem with a new fuel line.

What spring????

Sounds like you were working on the end of the hyd valve of
the tractor, and some pieces came out? Small spring, a metal
shaft with a wedge on one end? The popit? Or a shaft with
several skinny spots on it - the valve itself. Sometimes just a
small ball bearing for a popit?

Anyhow, that's where your problem would be.

If you have a camera phone, now would be a great time to use it. Works best to take a photo, then text it to your email, save it from your email to your desktop, then, below this box I am typing in, is another box that says, "advanced posting tools." below that box is an "upload photo" box. upload photos from desktop, post here, show us what you took apart. Point at it in your photos.

I can't picture what you took apart, but it sounds like you took apart the hydraulic valve on the tractor, not anything with the loader.

EDIT: Welcome to the forum!

Try posting on the Case board. I'm know expert but sounds
like your in farther than most are thinking. I think there I is a
check ball or plunger if you were in the side of the valve.
