Dearborn 19-5 Blade

Hi all, just wondering what color my 19-5 Dearborn blade should be??

As you can see from the picture, there is a very obvious red tint to it, and it is not rust.. I have no doubt that it was red at some point, but is it original??

Basically, I just want to put some paint on it to preserve it, plus I have plenty extra to do it..

I want to be able to use it with my Ferguson TO-30 OR Ford 2N, and have it look right, and maybe be correct for that time period!!

Being that it is a Dearborn, I assume it was sold at a Ford Dealer, which eliminate it being Ferguson Grey, and due to it being red, I would say that it came from the 8N/NAA period, BUT here is the question:

IF the blade was made during 9N/2N days, would it have been grey or red? I think my only option is to paint it Ford Red, then it would not only be a correct restoration, but it would also look sharp with both my Ford 2N and TO-30.

What do you guys think?? Any ideas?!?!

It needs a new cutting edge, which will be put on it as soon as I can find one... The local highway department has a pile of them off of grades, but there is one JD grader in particular that has a different bolt pattern than the Cat's, and it just so happens to perfectly match the blade! So they said that they will give me the cutting edge when they take it off, and I can then cut it down to 6 foot... Just hurry up and wait right?? :)

Ford implements were red until the early sixties. The thousand series tractors started as blue with white hood and fenders. As for the implements the hay equipment was changed to blue first and the other implements followed. Ford sold red implemente from the 40's until the early sixties.
