Acts of Kindness

I tried an act of kindness a few years back. We were in a rest. in Reno Nevada for the National air races. A diner with what appeared to be MS or some disorder lurched/limped past us and didn't see the steps. We were on a raised portion of the rest. that had one step down to the restrooms. So he fell flat. I saw him struggling to get up. I rushed over, grabbed him by the arm, got him half way up and promptly lost my grip and dropped him.

another guy came up and between the two of us we got him up.

Poor guy, he is probably think when I dropped him, "thanks for nuthin buddy" !!

Read a great story yesterday about a IED dog used by the Marines that lost a front leg to a booby trapped IED.

They went all out to save the dog including a medivac helicopter to get the dog to medical help.

The dog, Lucca, survived and was adopted by her original handler. He's written a book about her.

Here's a link to her story.

Very cool video. Running dogs around water right now makes me very aware. Three pound rabbit can cross thin ice; 30-35 pound beagle maybe not.
