Those were a common tractor and should be plenty
of parts available. I believe the left and rear
axle are interchangeable.

Try JP Tractor Salvage. They are just down hwy 67 from you. About 100 miles. They have a web site They salvage IH Farmalls

Just make sure you have a B and not a BN.
AFAIK, they're the same EXCEPT the rear axles/housings.

As suggested, JP should have it. I have bought everything from parts to complete tractors from them. I have also bought from "old"...no worries there, his stuff is good. The other fella I have bought offset parts from is Gene Bender. Likewise reliable and trustworthy. If you post your needs in the classifieds he will likely spot it.

Dont you mean the diff shaft and and housing. The left shaft is different from the right but the housings are the same. The axles are in the final drive housing and those housings are not interchangeable but the axles are. I am 250mi north from St Louis but i do have the parts.

Yes, I did mean to say the diff shaft/housing.
Not the lower axle shaft. Bad terminology on my part.

John, if you decide to make a trip to JP Tractor, use their map, do not depend on your GPS, it will take you about 2 miles in the wrong direction.
