Cleaning out dads desk

I worked on cleaning out my dads desk today so I can start using it, that process only took 5 years before I was ready to let go.

My dad was great at keeping manuals, there are several manuals for tractors and equipment I do not have. I will post those models this week, and will send to those that want them.

David: If you run out of things to straighten out just come up. I have several sheds/rooms full of stuff that needs sorting out. LOL

You have not been to long in getting it done. If 5 years is what felt right for you then 5 years is the perfect length of time. What business is it of anybodies to tell you what is the correct time.

I agree 100%. I feel that in most instances, the closer you are to someone the harder it is to accomplish the task, necessary though it may be.My wife had been gone for well over a year before my daughters were able to began sorting through her stuff. Four years later, they are still not finished, because they work at it for a while and have to stop. So David, don't worry about the time involved, just work at it at your own pace.

After my Dad passed in 81 my Mom was cleaning out his desk and took out the one drawer to find a check from the late sixties for a tractor trailer load of lumber. Grade hardwood, I think the check was for $3500-$4000. In those days that was worth something with 4 kids at home three of them growing boys!
