Getting black off tire

Put old tire on log splitter the other day. Tire had laid out in weather for a few years. Everything and I mean everything the tire touches becomes black instantly. Any ideas on what I can possibly scrub it with to get it so it wont turn everything black.

tire is oxidized a bit pressure swash it then paint it with tire paint. or even just regular non gloss black paint ( eggshell or satin acrylic ok )

Take it for a ride and tow it through a stubble field for a while.

If you get snow, drive the tire around in the snow. As was mentioned driving in a stubble field would work faster.

Scrub with stiff brush, water and Ajax or Comet. Probably more than once.

Thanks for all the ideas. I think i will try pulling it around in the stubble first, seems to be the easiest, if that doesnt work I will try scrubbing or painting it thanks.
