I replaced the little air bag in my truck seat because I thought it was leaking. It wasn't. It would probably do the job, and the price is right, but you would need a compressed air source! Maybe one of those little battery powered/self contained emergency compressors?

Can't think of the brand name, but I've got one just like it. Mine is laying on the iron pile. Poorest excuse for a seat I've ever encountered. Kind of like setting on a cement block. You'd be better off to replace it with a Monroe, similar to what is found on most Farmall Hs and Ms.

They were called Joy Riders. Made in Columbus, Nebraska. I have one on a 44 A John Deere. I"m told they were a great improvement over the factory seat. They were sold as late as the early 70s by Tractor Supply, and probably others.

As far as a shock, I"d like to have a new one too, but have never been able to find one. You can find a shock the right size, but it will have the wrong mounts, or the right mounts but the wrong size.

I had to dig around a few minutes. I had come across this on another individuals website, and saved it for future reference.

You might try John Deere. I worked on a 4230 seat this spring and the shock looks like the same one. You might change your mind tho, if it is the same length. They wanted a $110 dollars for it.

I have never seen an air shock that short. The ones I ever installed were at least twice as long and for the back suspension.

But you never know! I would try contacting companies that make air shocks these days. It would sure be nice to be able to adjust the seat height and bounciness with air. Good luck!

Bill,
Is it possible you have a monore seat? I recently got a monore seat, similar to the seat on my farmall C, for my Jubilee. Monore made this seat for the N series fords. I was able to repair it and adapt it for my ford. My back loves the seat.

BTY, I think YT sells the shock for my farmall for around $100. Not sure about the ford seat.
Doesn't your seat looks similar to the seat on AC 45?
